We all know the swoosh and the iconic mantra “just do it.”

Power brand Nike is home to 30,000 employees across six continents, with countless sub-brands, divisions,
technologies, sponsorships
and retail locations.

The Challenge

Nike believes that “if you have a body, you are an athlete.” In this spirit, the brand launched a challenge called
The Human Race, a global competition encouraging athletes everywhere to get out and run.

Here’s how it worked: kiosks were positioned throughout major cities, serving as digital check-ins. Runners could
visit the sites, log in with Nike+ and post their stats to various social media streams. We owned the design, prototyping, fabrication, installation and ongoing maintenance of the race kiosks across New York City. Like the participants themselves, the system had serious wherewithal — weather-proof, self-powered and always running.
